Louis Landon's 'unwind'

It's fitting that this CD is playing as the sun just went down and my 5 month old has just been put to sleep...thinking about the work week ahead and having an hour to wind down after another hectic day. 'Unwind' is a perfect album to play at night in front of the fireplace.

The title says it all! Louis has a style that incorporates more than your standard melody. His jazzy influence carries throughout his mindful compositions....enjoy this beautiful CD! For more information on Louis Landon check him out at www.louislandon.com.

Michael Logozar's 'Coming Into View'

Have you ever wanted the perfect CD to listen to as you are sipping on a hot cup of coffee and staring out into nature? If nature and music ever united, Michael's album 'Coming Into View' would be the glue.

This album is calm, relaxing, soothing, and a perfect compliment to when you want to quiet down. The leaves are turning colors this fall morning, and there is a light blanket of snow on the ground. Michael's music is highlighting the beauty of this scene and keeping the house warm on a cool day.

I have enjoyed his peaceful style. I would describe his music as gratious and appreciative. A highlighter to the outside world, letting us know life is beautiful...we just need to take a moment to look.

Michael, thank you for your talents. It's beautiful! Please check out Michael's website at www.michaelLogozar.com and be sure to get your copy of 'Coming Into View'.

Peace,

Chad Lawson's - Set on a Hill

My wife and I have been listening to Chad Lawson's "Set on a Hill" for the past several weeks. If I could describe this album, I would say the following.

"There are some CDs that touch you with little effort, and 'Set on a Hill' does just that!"

My immediate reaction to Chad's CD was..."This guy has patience in his compositions!"  Most composers (myself included) have a tendency to "rush" the musical message we are trying to portray, or to "force" a musical statement that though fits, maybe not as naturally to the listener. Chad's album speaks to you calmly, and at the same time, tells you a story.

After listening to the CD consistently, I am surprised that I do not get tired or restless with the melodies, nor do I find myself wanting to rush to the next stanza. The compositions keep me in the moment, and just when I relax, I hear a beautiful chord that opens the door to a new musical setting.

Besides the fact that my wife and I have been taking turns playing his CD in our respective cars, I can honestly say, this album is a gem. Stop by and check him out! www.chadlawson.com

Crossing the Bridge....again.

Crossing the Bridge...again...

It's hard to believe it has been 10 years!

In the spring of 1999, I released my debut solo piano CD "Crossing the Bridge." This CD started a musical journey that I cannot adequately put into words. The debut concert of this release happened on the campus of the University of South Dakota in Farber Hall. Many of you since, have continued to support my music throughout the past decade. I cannot thank you enough, and all that it has meant for me! Since that concert, and over the next five years, 2000 copies of this album would be distributed, and it has been sold out since.

Next month, "Crossing the Bridge" is going to be re-released with a partial new design, and the exact same master recording done 10 years ago! It will be the first time in 5 years that this CD will be available for order www.matthewmayer.com Please check back, in a couple weeks to order the new and re-released CD.

Crossing the Bridge

A decade ago, we crossed a bridge, and we will continue to make music!

Peace...Matt

Beyond - An Inside Look

A New Day (Click on the Play Button...)

Played: 819 | Download | Duration: 00:03:04

The "Beyond" album is my favorite of all of the solo piano albums I have compiled. The most intense and probably the most difficult to finish. I attempted to capture both hope and struggle, victory and defeat into one.

A New Day is meant to capture the essence of starting over and knowing that whatever has happened in the past...we can move forward. I picture the sun rising in the east and the warm rays shining down. Any hesitations you once had, are gone, as this day reminds you that you have the ability to put forth anything you want. God blesses us with a new day, a new beginning each time we wake in the morning. It is up to us what we do with that day.

As the day moves forward, we do the best we can. We do what we need to, in order to support ourselves and our family. Most of us also help others along the way, as we realize they too are on the same walk. We make mistakes, we get back up, knowing that everything is going to be ok. God is with us.

As the sun sets, we reflect on what our day has consisted of. We may have some laughs, some regrets, but we also have gratitude for our lives. We see the sun set and we rest.....go to sleep, only to awake to a new day, tomorrow.....Matthew Mayer.
